The solution
Nereda was selected as an efficient and cost-effective means to upgrade the works. The delivery partner was ESD, a joint venture between Galliford Try, MWH Treatment and Black & Veatch. Improvements included a new inlet works, improved storm water treatment, a buffer tank and three 2,000m3 Nereda reactors, with the capacity to treat an average flow of 6,758m3 per day with a peak flow of 693m3 per hour. A modular common wall construction design using DFMA maximised efficiency of the installation. EPS, Haskoning’s Nereda Licensee in Ireland provided design and delivery of specialist Nereda components under subcontract to ESD.
